એશિયાના સૌથી મોટા અને સૌ પ્રથમવાર સૌર ઉર્જા દ્વારા વિજળીનું ઉત્પાદન કરવાનો શ્રેય ગુજરાતના ફાળે. અને આ સિધ્ધી માનનીય શ્રી મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદી ના કારણે છે. આજે આપણે સમાચારોમાં જોઈએ જ છીએ કે હાલ માં મહારાષ્ટ્રમાં કોલસાની અછતના લીધે કેવી વીજ કટોકટી ઊભી થઈ છે? તેમાં શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર્ભાઈ મોદીએ પોતાની મેઘાવી આને દીર્ઘ દ્રષ્ટ્રીનો ઔર એક પરચો આપ્યો છે. આ વિટંબના અને કટોકટી ગુજરાતમાં ભવિષ્યમાં ઊભી ના થાય તે માટે તેમને દીર્ઘ દ્રષ્ટ્રી વાપરીને ગુજરાતને આ ભવિષ્યમાં ઊભી થનાર કટોકટી ની સ્થિતીમાંથી ઉગારી લીધું છે.
Moserbaer કંપની દ્રારા નિર્મીત સૌ પ્રથમવાર ૩૦મેઘા વૉટ પાવર પ્લાન્ટનું ઉધ્ઘાટન માનનીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીના હસ્તે તારીખઃ ૧૪/૧૦/૨૦૧૧ ના રોજ ગુંઠાવાડા ગામે, જિલ્લોઃ બનાસકાંઠા મુકામે થયું. જેની નોંધ માત્ર ગુજરાતી ટીવી9 ચેનલે લીધી. ઐતાહાસિક સીમા ચિહ્ન જેવા આવા ગૌરવશાળી પ્રસંગની કોઈ ચેનલ કે અખબારે નોંધ શુધ્ધા ના લીધી તે એક આચ્ચર્યની અને અચરજ ભરી વાત કહેવાય?!! કેમ આવું? એટલા માટે કે આ ગૌરવ ગુજરાતના ફાળે ગયું છે તેથી?

૩૦મેઘા વૉટ ના આ પાવર પ્લાન્ટ થી ૫૦૦૦૦ ઘરો ને વિજળી ઉપ્લબ્ધ થશે. થર્મલ પાવર થી આટલી વિજળી ઉત્પન્ન કરતા જે ૫૦૦૦૦ ટન કાર્બન ઉત્પન્ન થાત તેમાં થી મુકિતી. અને ગ્રીન સોલારનો આ સફળતાપુર્વક સુર્યના કિરણોમાંથી વિજળીથી લાખો ચહેરા પર ખુશીઓ અને અનેક ઘરો વિજળીની રોશનીથી જળહળી ઉઠશે. ગુજરાત ગોબરગેસ થી બાયોગેસ ઉત્પન્ન કરવામાં એશિયાનો પ્રથમ પ્લાન્ટ માત્ર ગુજરાતના કાકોશી નજીક મેથાણ ગામે આવેલ છે. અને આવી જ બીજી સિધ્ધી પણ ગુજરાત ના ફાળે જાય છે. અને આવા ઘણાં સોલારપ્લાન્ટો ગુજરાતમાં ચારણકા (વારાહી) 500MW, ઉપલેટા-ઉડું 135MW, પોરબંદર45MW, વીરમગામ30MW, ડીસા નજીકા ખીમત 30MW માં હાલમાં કામ ચાલું જ છે. તેનાથી હજારો લોકોને રોજગારી મળશે. અને ગ્રીન એન્ર્જી મળશે.મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ તો કહ્યું જ છે કે ગુજરાત વિશ્વમાં સોલાર હબ બનશે. અને ગુજરાત સોલાર દ્વારા 5000મેઘા વૉટ વિજળી ઉત્પન્ન કરવાનું ટારગેટ રાખેલ છે.
